Blogging from A-Z: U is for Unknown

U is for:

Unknown

Bit of a funny one for today. I have always had a bit of a niggle about the unknown, which seems a little silly as it is, by definition, unknown. At this point in my life I feel that I’m at a metaphorical crossroads, I could go back down the road of being an employee or I could go down the road of trying to make an income for myself and working from home. I know I’ve written about this subject before, but it really is something that plays on my mind.

Currently I am feeling quite positive about building the income and working for myself, but I don’t really have a strategy in place for doing so. I’m dipping my toe into various different fields (virtual assistant, freelancer, marketeer) and seeing what sticks but, eventually, I will have to make a choice of which avenue to exploit and my fear of the unknown stops me deciding as I’m not confident I’ll be making the right choice whichever one I choose.

Ultimately I know that I will have to choose and hope for the best. Erica at Be a Mumpreneur wrote a good post about ‘The Doubt‘, which sort of sums up what I’m feeling about my working future. I’m more confident now that I have the skills to sell, but whether anyone will want to buy is another matter!

My plan of action when A-Z is finished is to concentrate on building a specific range of services and advertising them then, hopefully, an income will follow!

If you’d like to leave a comment offering me a cup of tea and some reassurance then the would be swell!

  1. Yes, cup of tea and reasuurance here anytime you want/need it! Whatever you do you will always have some “what ifs” when you look back, so just go with what feels best at the time and try to have no regrets!

  2. I’m at a similar crossroads now to, graduating, with a million different directions I could go. But it seems only the less desirable paths are the ones that are open right now. So do I settle, or work at it even given the chance it won’t work at all?

But if you are really feeling this positive energy toward working for yourself that that is definitely where you should go. Just knowing what you want is the hardest part, so you shouldn’t take that for granted and act on it! Best of luck, you’ll be brill!!

  3. Large cup of tea waiting at mine with your dress to visit. Have belief in yourself and the income will follow (kind of like building a field and them coming! Or something ;0) )

Best of luck! I’m so glad I found your blog. I’m stopping by from the A to Z challenge and I look forward to visiting again.

Cup of tea and chat always available at mine.

Have faith in yourself and enjoy whatever path you chose, and remember that any decision you make now doesn’t have to be final. You can still dip your toe in other pools and change direction later as other opportunities arise.

    You’ll be fantastic! xxx
