V is for:
I was going to do a completely different V, but while having a long walk (necessity, not pleasure!) I was thinking about my blog and though this was a good V. I was thinking how I use the blog and realised that there are things I write on it, or intend to write on it, that I wouldn’t dream of discussing with people I know and so in some ways it’s become a bit of a diary/venting tool for me. I’m not entirely sure how I feel about that, whether I think it’s embarrassing to have my uncertainties out there for people to read, or whether it’s good to write down what I am thinking and seek advice without having to ‘bother’ them in person.
My overriding feeling is that yes, it is good to have that outlet, whether anybody actually reads it or not it’s nice to be able to sit down and write what you are thinking and feeling.
There is an ongoing meme at 3 Bedroom Bungalow called Dear So and So, where you can write an imaginary letter to someone who has browned you off during the week and I think in the next few weeks I might give it a try. It’s quite cathartic to be able to have a good old moan and as I don’t tend to go off on people in real life this might be a nice way to not bottle up petty annoyances!
I also wanted to write about anger in some form, just for an excuse to put that picture up again!
What do you think about your blog as a venting tool? Is it only that or more than that? Do you think anyone would read it if it was just moaning all the time?
