I have been seduced.
It’s not as lascivious as it sounds. I’ve been seduced back in to crafting by my friends, accompanied by pretty ribbons, papers and a hot glue gun!
I used to enjoy crafting and cardmaking, but was always a bit too ham-fisted to make my efforts look decent, but recently when my friend Catherine, the Crafty Little Blogger started tweeting pictures of her latest creations and, subsequently started adding them to her blog I began to take an interest, as did some of my other friends (you know who you are!!) So I now find myself thinking ‘hmm, that would make a nice card’ or ‘hmm, I know just how that would go in a scrapbook’ but I also haven’t much time to do all these things!!
Nevertheless, I’ve armed myself with supplies from The Range, partly with things to make my wedding invitations, but also as there were loads of christmas things on sale and I was also lucky enough to spot a post on Dorset Sales (like Freecycle, but buying and selling) from a lady who was selling a quantity of craft stuff. I purchased the whole box below for £20.
There are ribbons, paper flowers, papers, glitter papers, peel offs, embellishments, wire flowers and toppers – but no brads – hmmm. Loads of cool stuff, Beatrix Potter themes, Wallace and Gromit themes, christmas, easter, mother’s day, father’s day – you name it! A lot of it is free gift items from magazines, but it is unused and completely new to me so I’m quite happy, although I think there’s plenty of stuff to do some swaps with my friends and still not make a dent!
I also bought from the same lady a box full of rubber stamps so with all of this stuff I already have some scrapbooking and card ideas which I’ll post when I’ve done them (if they’re any good, if they’re shite I won’t!).
So off I return back into the world of crafting, but where I’ll get the extra hours in the day I don’t know!
