The A-Z Challenge – K is for Kindle – #atozchallenge

I was lucky enough to get Kindle from my dear husband for Christmas – mostly I think because he’s sick of my books cluttering up the place – but it was a lovely thought and I’ve been making much use of it alongside paper books.

The first book I read on it was actually a beta of my friend’s novel, which she is writing all about here, so that was really nice to be able to do.

Only this week thought, another friend pointed me towards the Kindle Fre-ebooks UK group on Facebook where people post recommendations of novels that are currently free on Amazon. These are mostly contemporary novels and there are loads of different genres to choose from. I’ve already picked out some new books that I’d not heard of, so lots to read. You should also check out the Amazon Daily Deal as every day a different, full price Kindle book is heavily discounted.

There is also a large selection of free classic books such as Jane Eyre, Sherlock Holmes etc on Amazon which I have also availed myself of. I can safely say then that I shall never run out of things to read (last count, 55 books waiting), and all on a handy handbag-sized device!

I too love my kindle and am sad it doesn’t get as much use as I’d like. I’ve just added the Harry Potter books to it though so look forward to firing it up again soon, after Insurgent on paper when my ARC arrives.
Thanks for the blog nod too :o)

  2. I have my Kindle Fire and its the best $200 I’ve ever spent. I carry it with me just about everywhere I go.

I’m amazed as I never thought I’d get one – too much a fan of ‘proper’ books – but it’s worked out really well. Thanks for commenting.

The biggest downfall of a new Kindle is how quickly your list of books to be read grows!
