Hey, it’s Saturday, so a quick picture post from me.
The lady in these pictures is my Great Grandmother, Louisa Stratton (nee Etheridge). I have mentioned her before as my example in ordering her birth certificate, so you might remember that she was born in 1893 and died in 1985 after being in a home for several years. I’m damned if I can find it, but I do have a picture somewhere of me with her at the home, I must’ve been 6 or 7 at the time.
I only vaguely remember her, but the one thing I remember most clearly is that she had dementia towards the end of her life and became convinced that people were stealing her money (they weren’t I hasten to add!) so my Nan used to take her in wodges of Monopoly money that she’d keep under her bed. Very sad in some ways that she didn’t know the difference, but at least it gave her some comfort!

Lou Lou as a child, I can’t imagine she’s more than 3 or 4 here, so this picture is over 100 years old!
These are two of the very few pictures I have of my Great Grandmother, but I feel very lucky to have them, the first one especially and I hope in the coming months to invest in some proper archival storage from them to stop them breaking down and, of course some hard drive space to store scans :0)
Like you said – great to have the pictures.
Maybe you could talk about the storage for S??
Yeah, could do. I do have anS already, but could shoehorn it in elsewhere!
