Book Review: The Lost Soul by Gabriella Pierce

Jane Boyle has long since known that her mother-in-law is a witch, but she’d never imagined Lynne Doran was actually the embodiment of a powerful, ancient, body-snatching evil! Now that Jane and her friends have uncovered Lynne and 666 Park Avenue’s dark truth, they must race against the clock to find a way to destroy the ancient witch before she finds her next unwilling host. And as Jane attempts to tap into power stronger than her enemy’s, her estranged husband Malcom arrives in time to join the fight…but can she grow to trust him before it’s too late?

I read and reviewed the previous two books in the 666 Park Avenue series (666 Park Avenue and The Dark Glamour), so it was a foregone conclusion that I would read The Lost Soul.

It’s a bit difficult really to review the book without giving you spoilers for the rest of the series, so I’ll just have to half-arse this review and tell you that it’s a fitting conclusion to the trilogy. Lynne and her relatives are gleefully evil witches, and Jane and her gang are just like the Scooby gang.

There are some surprising deaths in this book though – Pierce is not afraid to kill off some of her most-loved characters, but there is a twist in the end that leaves you hopeful for a happier ending for Jane.

This whole trilogy is highly recommended and, although the short-lived TV show has the same name, these books have a much better plot!
